Clean Energy Transition Partnership programme (CETP) - now closed
This fund is now closed, but you can still learn about the CETPartnership — a £5 million transnational research, technological development and innovation funding programme designed to boost and accelerate energy transition across 30 countries.
About the challenge
The CETP programme is a transformative Research, Technological Development and Innovation (RTDI) program, designed to accelerate clean energy transition through annual funding calls.
It’s an international collaboration involving 30 countries and more than 50 funding agencies, supported through the Horizon Europe R&I programme.
Our organisation is leading and delivering the programme on behalf of Scottish Government, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and South of Scotland Enterprise.

Scotland’s role in the CETPartnership
We’re supporting research and innovation in all the CETP modules:
- Innovative solutions for system flexibility: renewables production, storage and system integration
- Direct current technologies for networks
- Advanced renewable energy technologies for power production
- Carbon capture, utilisation and storage
- Hydrogen and renewable fuels
- Heating and cooling technologies
- Geothermal energy technologies
- Integrated regional energy systems
- Integrated industrial energy systems
- Clean energy integration in the built environment
We'll consider applications under all modules. However, as part of our eligibility process, projects will be expected to demonstrate relevance to the Scottish Government's energy strategies and should contribute to economic development in Scotland.
