Scotland is leading the way in offshore wind, one of the fastest growing renewables industries. Find out more about business opportunities in the sector and how we can help you get involved.

Scotland's unique combination of resources, expertise and capabilities means our offshore wind industry is thriving, creating abundant opportunities for businesses like yours.

Your existing expertise can be applied to offshore wind in fields such as surveying, installation, operations, maintenance, and health and safety.

Scotland's floating wind projects

ScotWind and INTOG leasing rounds have added just over 27 gigawatts (GW) of demonstration and commercial-scale floating wind to our pipeline, making Scotland the largest floating wind market in the world.

Scotland also has two of the world's biggest floating wind farms — Hywind Scotland and the Kincardine Offshore Wind Farm.

The opportunity for investment and growth in this sector is huge. In the UK alone, floating offshore wind is forecast to provide 17000 jobs and £33 billion GVA to the economy by 2050.

Run by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), Offshore Wind Scotland provides information on the sector.

Offshore wind infrastructure factsheets

To help Scottish suppliers identify specific opportunities in the offshore wind supply chain, we've also commissioned a series of factsheets that describe in detail the components required to build key pieces of offshore wind infrastructure.

The factsheets will help your company to identify which of their existing products and services could be used directly for – or adapted to fit – offshore wind opportunities.
