Your wellbeing
Holidays
You’ll have 43 days paid holiday (including public holidays) each year.
Holiday buy
If you need extra time off, you can apply to buy up to 6 weeks additional annual leave to use on top of your normal holiday entitlement. We’ll spread the cost of this over the year through salary sacrifice.
Our approach to flexible working
As one of Scotland’s Top 10 Flexible Employers, we pride ourselves on empowering our colleagues to work when and where they can best deliver their role in support of our corporate plan.
Under our approach to everyday flexibility, you can choose one of two work styles: you can either work mainly from the office or mainly from home. There may be a few exceptions where we can’t offer this choice, depending on the responsibilities of your role. You may flex your working pattern so that it meets the demands of your role, the needs of the business and suits your preferences.
We also offer the right to request flexible working from day one of employment.
Our standard working week is 35 hours (full time equivalent) Monday to Friday with some exceptions allowed for working weekends.
Healthcare cash plan
Look after yourself with our free healthcare cash plan. This plan offers benefits including money back towards everyday healthcare expenses like optical care, dental care and physiotherapy. You can also choose to buy extra cover. We also offer discounted cover or health insurance from self-funded healthcare plans.
Employee assistance programme
Your wellbeing is important to us, and we want you to have the support you need if you’re going through a difficult time. The help is there whenever you need it - you’ll have access to free confidential counselling and information services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The service also offers online resources on health and wellbeing topics.
Enhanced sick pay
We offer enhanced occupational sick pay which include periods of full and half-pay periods.
Time off for dependants
Don’t worry if something urgent crops up at home. Time off for dependants allows you to take a reasonable amount of time off work to deal with unexpected emergencies and to give you time to make longer-term arrangements. We usually offer paid leave to cover emergencies like this.
Special leave
You can apply for special leave if you need to be away from work for a reason not covered by our other leave arrangements. For example, we have paid special leave for marriage and civil partnership ceremonies.
Bereavement leave
Provides support for employees through their grief and allows paid time off work to deal with their personal distress and make related practical arrangements for the death of a close or chosen family member.

Your future

Keep an eye on your future after work with our defined benefit pension scheme, which is a valuable part of our benefits package.
As well as a pension and tax free lump sum, our pension scheme has other benefits.
- You're covered under the Scottish Enterprise life assurance scheme (death in service benefit)
- Cohabiting partners receive the same pension benefits as married spouses or civil partners
- You can make additional voluntary contributions to enhance your pension, which also come with tax advantages
- Depending on your medical condition, there are ill-health retirement options
Our partial retirement scheme offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a gradual transition from employment to retirement. This means you receive a portion of your retirement benefits while continuing to work for us on reduced hours.
