Response
Management information data for public bodies’ corporate functions in 2022-23, including for Scottish Enterprise, is already published here: Public bodies' corporate function data, data as at financial year 2022/23 - gov.scot, on the second spreadsheet under the “Bodies_excl_health_social_care” tab.
As guidance, we draw your attention to the ‘Notes on Data’ tab, which provides important information on how the data should be interpreted. It explains why the data offers only a starting point for further exploration and should not be used in and of itself to judge how effectively any specified public body is operating.
For ease of review, the figures as provided to Scottish Government by Scottish Enterprise are replicated below: Financial year 2022-23 Costs of running Corporate Functions
HR total costs £ | Finance total costs £ | Commercial total costs £ | Communications total costs £ | *Digital and Data total costs £ | *Estates total costs £ |

Table notes
*Digital & data – many elements of our work include ‘digital transformation’, and as such, transformation efforts are built into all programmes of work and not budgeted separately.
*Estate running costs – total included as requested however please note we recover £3.36m from rental income meaning the net is £4.4m.
To date, Scottish Government has not requested this information be updated for the financial year 2023-24 and as such, while we hold some ‘raw’ data, no benchmarking data has been created, compiled or analysed. We confirm then that the information requested is not held.
