PEACEPLUS funding

PEACEPLUSopens in a new window is a new European Union funding programme launched in early 2023.

It's designed to support peace and prosperity across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland, building upon the work of the previous PEACE and INTERREG programmes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for partners in Scotland to participate in a unique programme. The goal is to encourage collaboration between the island of Ireland, countries like Scotland and the rest of the EU. PEACEPLUS can help make this happen.

Who can apply?

The core programme area includes Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland, namely Counties Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Louth, Monaghan and Sligo. Scotland is part of the programme through its functional area status.

Cross-border collaboration is not strictly limited to the administrative borders. The geography can be flexible depending on the topic concerned. By creating a so-called 'functional area', PEACEPLUS enables organisations and institutions not based in the core programme areas to get involved in projects by collaborating with partners in those areas. 

Important information

There are some important points to note about the PEACEPLUS programme:

• Problem solving may be based on the functional areas rather than on the administrative boundaries defining the programme.
• What matters is that the benefits of the project are significant for the programme areas.
• The location of the project or the location of the partners is not a defining matter

Funding call timetable

A timeline for funding calls up until 2027 has been set out. Please note that call opening and closing times are indicative, and they may be subject to change.
