The Scottish National Investment Bank is Scotland’s development bank. To support economic growth across Scotland, it invests in businesses and projects that support the delivery of its missions and can provide a commercial, risk-adjusted financial return.  

Its first mission relates to net zero. It aims to address the climate crisis through the growth of a fair and sustainable economy. The second mission relates to place. It centres around transforming communities by making them into places where everyone can thrive. The bank's final mission is about innovation. It relates to scaling up innovation and technology, for a more competitive and productive economy. 

The bank invests for the long term and can make equity investments, provide debt or, where necessary, invest in third-party funds.
