Medical Device Manufacturing Centre (MDMC)

The Medical Device Manufacturing Centre (MDMC), headquartered at Heriot-Watt University and funded by Scottish Enterprise, is a pan-Scotland collaboration among five universities (Heriot-Watt, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, and Robert Gordon).

It offers free support to Scottish companies in medical device development, providing expert advice on manufacturing, engineering, regulatory matters, funding, and sustainability.

MDMC’s team of Technology Specialists assists companies with the translation of medical device concepts into small-batch commercial prototypes by offering technical expertise, state-of-the-art equipment, and access to health informatics and NHS collaboration. Additionally, the MDMC provides support for clinical trial design.
