Scottish Enterprise operates internationally through its overseas arm, Scottish Development International. Our partners in Scottish Development International are the Scottish Government, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and South of Scotland Enterprise. We may share your personal information with our Scottish Development International field offices. In some instances, this may involve transferring your personal data outside the United Kingdom. We ensure that your personal information is protected by requiring all our Scottish Development International offices and staff to follow the same rules when processing your personal information.

To provide the best services possible on an international scale, we may also share your personal information with our third party partners outside the United Kingdom. Where your personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring at least one of the following safeguards is implemented:

• We will only transfer your personal information to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the UK Government.
• Where we use certain service providers, we may use specific contracts approved by the UK Government which give personal information the same protection it has in United Kingdom.
